Als ons lichaam mooi, flexibel, fit, functioneel, onberispelijk, onverwoestbaar, tijdloos, slank genoeg, vol genoeg en speciaal genoeg moet zijn, laat het dan ook lelijk, stijf, zwak, onvolmaakt, breekbaar, vermoeid, beperkt en oud zijn. Als ons lichaam iets MOET zijn, laat het dan een plek zijn waar alles mogelijk is.
Op 10 februari is dans collectief Modern Bruises weer te zien op het podium met hun nieuwe voorstelling If My Body, gecreëerd in samenwerking met set-design collectief studi0sc0pe. De aangrijpende voorstelling portretteert een poëtische, speelse en confronterende verzameling scènes rond de dynamische relatie die we hebben met ons lichaam.

If our body has to be beautiful, flexible, fit, functional, flawless, indestructible, ageless, skinny enough, curvy enough, special enough, then let it also be ugly, stiff, weak, blemished, breakable, tiresome, limited, and old. If our body HAS to be something, then let it be a place where everything is possible.
On 10 February dance collective Modern Bruises will be back on stage with their new performance If My Body, created in collaboration with set-deisgn collective studi0sc0pe. The touching performance will portray a poetic, playful, and confronting collection of scenes around the dynamic relationship we have with our body.
