Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis
Theatre hall

Rent the hall, perform a show?

Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis offers a professional theatre hall for your performance or event

How to reserve the hall

Booking has recently moved to a new, easier method. You no longer book in the calendar yourself — you fill in a short form, choose your date(s), and we review your request. You'll be notified automatically once a date is approved. The form shows a calendar; that's only there to check which dates are still free.

Which button do you choose?

There are two types of reservation. Decide in advance what you're coming to do:

  • Performing a show? Use the button "Book a Performance". This form also gathers the website info and technical details.
  • A course, workshop, rehearsal series, training, meeting or other activity? Use the button "Book a Course or Workshop". This form is shorter, and you can enter a whole series of dates at once.

Have you booked with us before?

Then you have your own overview page. Log in and you'll see all your reservations in one place; there you can also request new dates and adjust existing ones (convert an option to definitive, or remove a date you won't use). You automatically receive a confirmation of every change.

Important: log in with the same email address you used to book before — then all your history is there straight away. Preferably use a fixed address for your group or organisation (for example info@yourgroup.nl) rather than a personal address that may change. That keeps everything together, and your colleagues can access the same overview too.

Hall Rental Information

Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis rents out its theatre hall for various purposes such as theatre performances, dance performances, presentations, workshops, lectures and corporate training.

What can you rent?

  • Large theatre hall, roughly 12 metres wide, 10 metres deep and 5 metres high
  • With seating for 115+ people
  • Dressing room and workshop space
  • Kitchen
  • Kitchen / office space (e.g. for longer build-up periods)
  • Light and sound (see technical specs)

  • We do not rent out for parties

Step-by-step

Good to know when reserving

You don't need to create an account to reserve. You simply fill in the form. If you want to see or adjust your reservations later, you log in with your email address (see the block at the top).

Per date you can choose between an option (holding it without obligation) and a definitive reservation. Everything you submit is first reviewed by Het Theaterhuis. So you needn't worry that an option you enter could simply be overwritten by someone else.

Please note: a definitive reservation really is definitive. After approval you receive a quote. That quote states the exact cancellation dates and percentages that apply to your reservation — those are decisive. The closer a reservation gets to the date, the larger the share of the rent due upon cancellation.

An option is meant to hold a date if you're not yet certain. An option remains valid for a limited period; the exact end date is in your quote. If you don't confirm or extend an option in time, it may be invoiced. Not using an option? Remove it yourself in good time on your overview page, so the date becomes available again.

Alternative: Theater De Cameleon
